Application 2/3: Portfolio
STEP 2: Submit portfolio items by upload or email.
Please follow the guidelines for each genre and submit the appropriate items. If your specific artwork does not fit into one of the categories below, that’s okay, just submit a representative selection of what you have. Each submission should include:
BIO. An “artistic biography” of minimum 500 words including a) a description of your artistic style, approach, and implementation—such as your preferred media—and you key influences; b) what you love about your art and the process of creating; c) struggles and challenges you face in your creative work; and d) your understanding of what it means to be a Christian artist with references to Scripture.
SAMPLES. The number and kinds of pieces requested below for each genre.
DESCRIPTIONS. A brief description of each piece submitted, including title (if named), date and occasion of its creation, and any other information that would be helpful for us understanding the work.
Submit all items (Bio, Sample,s and Descriptions) BY UPLOAD TO GOOGLE DRIVE using the “Submit Portfolio” button below. Bios and Descriptions can be in Word, Pages, or PDF format. If works already exist online (such as a video on YouTube or Vimeo), please upload a document with links listed. (If the Google Drive doesn’t work, you can email submissions to: info@unsungarts.org).
VISUAL ART
Visual arts includes all forms of painting and drawing in any medium, photography, or mixed media. Please submit Between 5 and 10 high quality images (scans or photographs) of your work. Include a good cross-section of your style. (For animation or other moving pictures, see FILM below.)
Preferred formats: JPG, PDF.
MUSIC
Music includes music performance, composition, acoustic or electronic styles, in any genre, instrument, or ensemble. Please submit a minimum of 3 pieces performed or composed totaling a minimum 10 minutes of music. (For example, if 3 pieces adds up to less than 10 minutes of music, please add more. If you have two 20-minute performances, please submit samples from both totaling 10 minutes.)
Preferred formats: MP3, AIFF, WAV
DANCE
Dance refers to all forms of organized movement, from formal expressions such as ballet or ballroom, to experimental or “performance art” movement, to community-based movements such as marching bands or . Please submit video of at least 5 minutes of dance performance. You may submit samples of work you choreographed even if you did not perform in them, but these should constitute no more than half of your submission.
DRAMA
Drama includes all forms of dramatic and performance arts including stage acting, screen acting, musical shows, mime, street dramas, and performance art; AND script writing, producing, set design, costuming, etc. Performers, please submit video samples from as many genres as possible in your repertoire, up to 10 minutes of footage; or, if video is not available, any public press available surrounding your role and performance, such as reviews, interviews, etc., along with a written description of your part. Producers and those working backstage, please provide five samples of your work accompanied by written description.

ORAL/VERBAL ARTS
Poetry, literature of any genre, oratory, proverbs, jokes, fairy tales, laments, eulogies, invocations, prayers—these all fall under the domain of oral/verbal arts. Please submit 20-30 pages of your best writing from at least two, and up to five, different genres or works. Please also include a list of any of your work published or in print.

FILM
Film includes all aspects of filmmaking, including editing and effects, animation, 3D, and screenwriting. (For acting, see DRAMA above. For VR, see DIGITAL ARTS below.) Please submit minimum 5 minutes of footage of films you have made or significantly contributed to. Please only include samples in which you were directly and meaningfully involved.
FASHION
Fashion includes any form of serious-minded and skilled designing, creating, or showcasing worn textiles. Please submit photos of at least 5 pieces you have created or designed with an attached description of the work and its creation, or video of any shows you have participated in.
DIGITAL ARTS
This is the most wide-open category. It could include digital design, game design, VR/AR/360 video, or a mix of scores of other disciplines. Please submit a sample of 5 to 10 works with a description of how you understand your art form
OTHER (CULINARY / TEXTILE / ETC.)
